Associate Professor David Unbehaun, Ph.D.

Background

After studying business administration and economics at the University of Halle-Wittenberg and the University of Siegen, and earning his doctorate in the field of assistive technologies in healthcare settings at the University of Siegen, David Unbehaun has consistently focused his research, publications, teaching, and committee work, both nationally and internationally, in the field of digital health services research and practice- and user-oriented assistive technology design (Human-Computer Interaction, Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, Human-Robotic Interaction, Participatory Design).

Likewise, through diverse interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, David Unbehaun has been able to explore issues related to the adoption of information and communication technologies as well as assistive technologies in the field of digital prevention and intervention by older adults and/or people who are not tech-savvy, and to highlight their relevance in gerontological contexts.

His research encompasses a wide range of interdisciplinary and socio-informatics perspectives on user- and practice-centered research, design, development, implementation, and adoption of IT-supported processes and products, each of which is embedded in social, economic,  societal, health-related, and ethical discourses.
